Jim was my Father. I miss him greatly. He would talk to me often on his return home from the North sea. I was always in awe at the complexities of the oil industry operations and the words in this video perfectly demonstrate his overall thinking when it came to how to safely and affectively operate in the North sea. He was a people person, he greatly believed in the individuals importance from porter to chef to OIM, each one was as important as the other. I hope operators in the oil industry and beyond continue to learn from his wisdom.

He was my first OIM on the Captain WPP and worked off and on with him for 15 years. A truly inspirational leader and without a doubt ‘the voice’ of safety in the North Sea. Someone who constantly challenged me to progress in my career. RIP Jim

I hugely admire and respect your opening up and sharing your experience, I think you're extremely brave to do so. Most of us don't open up, its like we're afraid to do so, so we keep it all locked down, where it eats awsy at us like the corrosive element that it is. The lucky ones manage to operate with their heads just above the water, and despite suffering, they remain alive. They don't want to destroy themselves, but they are still at risk as they're still suppressing everything. I hope people are able to talk, it can make such a difference, like you couldn't have imagined. Thank you for sharing your experience, its appreciated.
